We Got An Award Nomination

Wow we were given an award from our friends over at Celestial Kitties. Go visit them they have a great blog, I have been following them as long as I have been part of the blogosphere. It is called the “Versatile Blogger Award”. Thank you for thinking of us, much appreciated.

Well there are 5 rules to the award.

  1. Nominate 5 fellow bloggers who are relatively new to blogging.
  2. Let the nominated bloggers know they have been nominated for the award.
  3. Share 7 random facts about yourself.
  4. Thank the blogger who has nominated you.
  5. Add the Versatile picture to your post.

I guess should start with the 7 random facts.

  1. Lil' Bit does not like anything to be closed off from her. She will open the cabinets in the bathroom, I have tried unsuccessfully to block the closet door in the back bedroom. She will still open the bi-fold doors. She even pulls up the foot rest on the recliner to get under it, but does not go just wants access.
  2. I am a reading addict and news junkie. My mind is full of useless junk from countless news articles I have read. In conversations I will bring up something I have read and no one will believe me that it is true because they never read it. With it not being major news
  3. Squirrels favorite junk foods: Raw bacon, Cheetos Puffs, Nacho Cheese Doritos. I will let her have maybe one chip or puff out of a bag once every 3 to 4 months. Bacon twice a month.
  4. When Lil' Bit wants some loving she will just suddenly appear in my lap no warning. Pop and she is there from out of no where.
  5. When Mizz Purrzzy wants to play she will come up all loving wanting in my lap, then jumps down again. Over and over until I get up and play with her.
  6. Every one wants to join me when I am bathing. Ever have 5 or 6 cats in a small bathroom at the same time?
  7. I am not really a big chocolate fan, at least not in candy bars. In a cake or cupcake sure but that is about it. Shocking I know.

Now to nominate 5 others. I am not sure how new each of these are but I do enjoy their blogs. I am not really good at commentary or descriptions so listed in no particular order they are...

Sadly so many come and go, some of my favorites have stopped posting. A few do not post as often as they used to. Please give these folks a visit and if you like what you see follow them.

Next post more cat pics, plus news about KWF. What is it and what are your thoughts about it.

Sleepy Sundays

Here it is another lazy, sleepy Sunday with everyone in full sleep mode. Everyone has their favorite spot, but they do like to change it around a bit.

                                              TJ in a funk.
Notice how he just melts into it.

Reminds me of a bored teenager, grounded and moping.

                                          The Twins on my dresser.

A table for two. Notice Squirrel underneath.

                                            Do not disturb, please.

Lil' Bit taking up the whole recliner.

Hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Remember our motto. “All Kittehs R good Kittehs”

Cat vs Paper Bag

Mittens has never meet the brown paper bag that she couldn't destroy. She has a thing for paper bags & cardboard boxes. Thankfully she does not have pica, as she never tries to eat them, just destroy them. She will dig in to bite out a chunk of the bag then spits it out on the floor. Some times it looks like a bag exploded in the middle of the front-room.

                                             Gotta try this one.
                                                  Yep got it.
                                           Wait what was that flash.
                                                  Change of attack.
                                                Now you've had it.
                                              Time to get serious.
                                            What?! The bag started it.
Time for a much needed nap.

Sleepy Sunday

Running a little behind on postings. Last week just as I was getting ready to post a thunder storm came in, so I had to shut the system down. Then again on Monday, next thing I knew it was the weekend again. Anyways here is how the day was spent at my house. Just a few pictures of what everyone was up to.

                                       The Twins sleeping together.

                                          Mittens on her shoes.

                                          The Martian in his bed.

Everyone gathers around me at the table when I sit there.

Lucky Friday

I hereby declare Friday the 13th as “Lucky Fridays”. Flying in the face of conventional superstition, I go out of my way to pass paths with black cats. Not everywhere are black cats considered a portent of ill omen. A few lesser known facts about black cat superstition.

In Great Britain and in Ireland, black cats are a symbol of good luck.

Black cats are also considered good luck in Japan. Furthermore, it is believed that a lady who owns a black cat will have many suitors.[I wounder if that bears true for men also, having a choice of ladies]

In Germany, some believe that black cats crossing a person's path from right to left, is a bad omen. But from left to right, the cat is granting favorable times.

Maneki Neko (Japanese Lucky Cat) each color has a different meaning. A Black Lucky Cat: gets rid of badlucks.

Although she is not mine I feel fortunate to have Blackie stop by and visit on a regular basis. Not only is she a very beautiful cat, she also smells nice.

Kitty News

The twins, Pretty & Ugly.

I have recently removed something from my routine that was taking up a disproportionate amount of time. I had let myself get caught up in an online activity that is just nothing more than a time waster. I was letting it take up far too much of my time and finding myself not spending time doing the things I really wanted to. With it gone now I plan on spending more time playing with the cats, I also hope to start posting more. The next problem is getting back in the habit of sitting down and writing, I can get lazy about doing this.

Squirrel is right at home.

Recently I got a new (used) couch, tossing the old one away. As you can see from most of the photos in this post it is a big hit. With the old one only The Martian and Lil' Bit would get up on it to sleep, the others would sometimes crawl into my lap. Now every-time I turn around I find another cat fast asleep on it. Even Squirrel likes it, she usually is not to be found, hiding from the others. You can see she has found herself a place on it. I don't know if maybe it is because this one has no cat scent on it yet or what, but at least they are enjoying it.

Pretty & The Martian.

Previously I had mentioned that Thor disappeared, well about 5 or 6 weeks ago my next door neighbor had their cat disappear on them. The came around asking if I had seen her after they had been away for a day and a half. They said they could not keep her in because of the dog door, so let her roam free. Then almost 2 weeks ago I came home and got a scare.

Ugly watching over TJ.

As most of you may know about half of the cats I write about are NMK's meaning they technically are my neighbors cats. Being allowed to come and go as they want 3 of them spend 80% or more of their time in my house. I only let them out so my neighbor can still see them and not think I took them. Most mornings they will go out, then when I get home to open the back door they are waiting to come back in. Just about 2 weeks ago I came home and only 2 were waiting to come in. Not unusual sometimes it will take a while before they realize I am home. That night I went to bed late and TJ still had not come in, this a few weeks after the other neighbors cat disappeared. I was getting worried, he is usually the biggest pest about coming in.

The twins making them selves right at home.

Squirrel noticed the camera.

Having gotten up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, I went to the back door to check once again for him. There he was wanting in, finally. I decided to keep them in from now on. You might say I stole them, although long ago they had already decided that this was home. The first couple of nights it was difficult with TJ crying to be let out. I do not like the idea of punishing cats for their behavior, that was what I felt like I was doing. When I went to bed I would have to get up and put him in the back room by himself. I did this so I could get some sleep, but still felt like I was punishing him. Thankfully he has stopped. All 3 will sometimes bug me to let them out during the day when I am up and about but they are getting use to it.

TJ the pest, who stated me worrying, Mizz Purrzzy looking at something.

I want to start something new so look for news in an upcoming post about KWF. I am hoping I can find someone to help me with some artwork for it. I see I need to update my about me section I hope to do that by next post. That is all the news for now, until next time remember “All Kittehs R Good Kittehs”

Kitty Playpen

I have a special playpen for my cats. Most of them love to play in it by themselves or with a toy. I discovered their joy with it on day by accident. They would follow me in and jump into the tub, on day I tossed an empty TP roll in when Mittens was in the tub. This is one of her favorite toys, as it is cardboard and she can tear it up. As you can see in the picture of her she is having a good time with it.
Toys from milk jug.
Something else the cats enjoy is the top from a gallon milk jug, both the ring and the lid. I usually have a dozen under the fridge at any time. Also I created a little puck using the foil wrapper off of a Ding Dong, Mittens loves that one also.

                                    Mittens rabbit kicks TP roll.

I tried using the empty roll with some of the others but they were not that interested so one day I tossed in the puck, instant hit. Between that and the lid all the cats are entertained. I stopped using the TP rolls as I would forget and turn the water on soaking them. One day shortly after I started this I heard a loud noise coming from the bathroom, go check it out to find The Martian playing. Now when he gets board he will go in there and play by himself. The others still will not play with him, so this gives him something he can do on his own. As you can see by the photos most every one has a good time.

                                         Lil' Bit @ Play.

                                                     Lil' Bit again.

                                               Squirrel circles her prey.

                                                   She stalks it.

                                                She attacks.

Oh oh the Diva noticed the camera.

                                                Ugly has got it!

                                              Where did it go?

The Martian has it on a roll.

The Twins checking out the racket in the tub.

Time For Loving

I do not have a picture of this, wish I did. So just some misc pic's of them. Last night after getting out of the shower I sat on the bed to put on my socks. The Martian who always follows me out from the bathroom jumped up on to the bed to be next to me. He does this all the time, so nothing new there. After he walked behind me I laid back to give him some attention for a couple of minutes. When I sat up Squirrel was on the floor at the foot of the bed looking like she wanted to join me.

The Martian following me around the house.
So I got up put on my pants then sat back down. Now she does not usually jump up on the bed when I call her. Even though she looks like she wants to, at best when I give up and get up she will jump up. This time she did come up heading straight for my lap. So now I was petting a cat with each hand. Then Mizz Purrzzy came in wanting attention. She does not usually get on the bed with me, when she does it is just a drive by. She will jump up brush against me then back down. This time I was able to get her to stay.

Squirrel in her sink.

Mizz Purrzzy in a box.

She was at the foot of the bed laying on the edge on my right side, Squirrel was still in my lap. The Martian was on my right nuzzling against my neck and shoulder. What made this note worthy is that normally Squirrel would have jumped down when Mizz Purrzzy jumped up. Not only that, they were almost face-to-face being only about a hand width apart. Then after a couple of minutes of this, PLOP.

In bed by her self.
Lil' Bit in the recliner.
I turned to look, here came Lil' Bit walking around me to get to my left side. She is very energetic and restless so she would rub against my hand walk away then back again. Finally she settled down for some chin scratches. Now I have a cat in my lap, one in each hand rubbing my head and chin against a fourth. Can you say my hands were full. With all the NMK's (Not My Kitties) out side the only one missing was Mittens who was sound asleep in her tunnel.

Her regular night time spot.

Tired out from play.
This was a very nice peaceful family gathering, of all most the entire group. Knowing that this would probably not happen again, I stayed there for as long as I could. Just giving each of them some love and attention. First scratching one chin, then rubbing anothers ear. This went on for about 10 minutes with the five of us. It only stopped because I had to get up. It made for a special and memorable moment. No sibling rivalries, not cat fights, no one running away, just all of them enjoying the moment. Maybe next time Mittens will join in, I can only hope.
